Glass & Aluminum Railing Systems

Glass and aluminum railing systems — installed new, refinished electrostatically in place, or upgraded for code compliance and architectural fit.

Finish

Glass & Aluminum Railing Systems.

Railings define the visual rhythm of a tower's facade and the safety of every balcony. We install new aluminum and glass railing systems where structural restoration requires it, and we electrostatically refinish existing railings where the metal is sound but the coating has aged out. Both approaches restore the building without the visual disruption of a full replacement.

Our pre-work inspection determines the right approach. Where the railing's structural attachment to the slab is intact and the metal itself isn't compromised, electrostatic refinishing brings the existing system back to a like-new finish in place — at a fraction of the cost of replacement and with none of the resident disruption. Where the post embedments have corroded, the cap rails are bent or fatigued, or the original spacing doesn't meet current code (especially for buildings being renovated to modern infant-spacing requirements), we replace the system in full.

Replacement work coordinates closely with the broader balcony scope. We typically remove the old railing, repair the slab edge and post embedments, set new posts in epoxy-grouted sleeves to engineering spec, and install the new railing assembly. Glass panels are tempered laminated safety glass per code, with manufacturer-supplied gaskets sized to allow the glass to expand and contract without stressing the frame. Powder-coat colors are matched to the building's architectural intent, with sample swatches approved by the design team before we order production quantities.

Scope of work

What's included.

  • New aluminum railing installation
  • Glass railing systems
  • Electrostatic refinishing of existing railings
  • Baluster replacement
  • Top-rail restoration
  • Powder-coat color matching

Our approach

How we run the job.

  • Structural attachment inspected before refinish or replace decision
  • Electrostatic painting bonds in places brushes and rollers can't reach
  • Glass panels match the building's existing optical clarity
  • Powder-coat colors matched to architectural specification
