Our commitment

Florida's Choice Contracting works on buildings where the people we serve span a wide range of ages, abilities, and assistive-technology needs. Our website should reflect that. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA and treat accessibility as an ongoing improvement effort, not a one-time checkbox.

Features we've built in

• Semantic HTML throughout — `<header>`, `<nav>`, `<main>`, `<article>`, `<section>`, and proper heading hierarchy on every page.
• Keyboard navigation — every interactive control (links, buttons, form fields, mobile menu toggle) can be reached and operated with the keyboard.
• Visible focus indicators on every focusable element.
• Descriptive alt text on every meaningful image; decorative images marked `alt=""`.
• Form fields with explicit `<label>` elements; placeholder text never used as a substitute for a label.
• Color contrast audited against WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text) on every page; an automated audit runs against every deployment.
• The mobile navigation menu is a real button with `aria-controls`, `aria-expanded`, and a dynamic accessible name; opening it locks page scroll; pressing Escape closes it.
• All animation respects the `prefers-reduced-motion` media query — visitors who have requested reduced motion in their operating system see static content with no scroll-triggered, hover-triggered, or auto-playing motion.
• Page titles are unique and descriptive on every page.
• The site language is declared as `en-US`.

Known limitations

We are aware of, and actively working on, the following items:

• The Authorized Applicator section currently displays manufacturer logos provided by their public sources — image alt text is the brand name, but the logos themselves do not include accessible structured descriptions of the brand mark.
• The home hero rotates between four photographs with brief crossfades; the photographs are decorative and the page content remains accessible without seeing them, but the rotation is not currently pausable through a UI control.
• We do not yet provide a "skip to main content" link at the top of each page.

We aim to respond to accessibility-related questions within two business days, and to resolve confirmed barriers within thirty days when feasible. If a barrier cannot be addressed within that window, we will tell you why and offer a working alternative.

Standards

This site is designed against WCAG 2.1 Level AA (w3.org/TR/WCAG21/). Where federal contracting work brings Section 508 obligations into scope, we treat WCAG 2.1 AA as the operational standard for our public website.
